Keyboard Warrior (Part Seven)

Now we get into the actual tactics and implementation of your online activism.

The first thing you need to realize about being a keyboard warrior is that you’re an in the trenches kind of fighter. One person isn’t going to have a large impact. Engagement is one on one confrontations for the most part. And yes, you always need to be playing to the crowd when you do this. You are still engaging in a one on one fight; your aim is to win this fight, of course, but you’re always playing to the crowd by making a point while always making sure that the crowd knows you’ve won.

Words, messages, notifications, tweets those are your weapons. They fall into two very obvious categories offensive and defensive. For the most part as Men being activists, we’ve been limited to the counter punch. But if you come up with other ways of doing things, please let me know

My first tool was this website

This blog stands out all by itself, and you can learn all of the basics just from reading this site. I suggest that you keep it close and refer to it often. As you get better though go back from time to time and take a refresher; There’s something to learn there every time I read it.

But let’s go through all the codes; including some of the ones that got added later and that are not on the blog.

Charge of Irascibility (Code Red)

Discussion: The target is accused of having anger management issues.  Whatever negative emotions he has are assumed to be unjustifiable.  Examples:

“You’re bitter!”

“You need to get over your anger at women.”

“You are so negative!”

Response: Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice.   It is important to remember that passive acceptance of evil is not virtue.

This one is first for a reason, most of us are angry, and some of us are angrier than others. It’s important that you go through the grieving process in regards to your anger, so it doesn’t control you. An angry man that hasn’t processed his anger is very easy to bait. He can go down a path, and his responses can be used against both him and others later on. Properly focused and directed anger can a deadly and efficient way of dealing with an opponent. Feminists especially Feminazis and Radical Feminists are also angry people. If you feel yourself getting angry to the point that you’re losing focus leave the computer, go out and do something else.

Charge of Cowardice (Code Yellow)

Discussion: The target is accused of having an unjustifiable fear of interaction with women.  Examples:

“You need to get over your fear.”

“Step up and take a chance like a man!”

“You’re afraid of a strong woman!”

Response: It is important to remember that there is a difference between bravery and stupidity.  The only risks that reasonable people dare to take are calculated risks.  One weighs the likely costs and benefits of said risks.  As it is, some men are finding out that many women fail a cost-benefit analysis.

This code ties into code red! In fact, a man that hasn’t dealt with his anger will often be baited into attacking rashly via code yellow. If you do get baited you have lost the initiative and given it back to the person with whom you were engaging. Like the original post says there is a difference between bravery and stupidity if you don’t have an answer right away you are perfectly within your right to explain it later on your time. I got baited this way once because I forgot about an engagement I was having and didn’t notice until later. I got angry and just reacted luckily there was a third party to moderate the disagreement, you may not be so lucky. The main thing with code yellow is to fight on your terms, not theirs.

Charge of Hypersensitivity (Code Blue) – The Crybaby Charge

Discussion: The target is accused of being hysterical or exaggerating the problems of men (i.e., he is accused of playing “Chicken Little”).  Examples:

“Stop whining!”

“Get over it!”

“Suck it up like a man!”

“You guys don’t have it as nearly as bad as us women!”

“You’re just afraid of losing your male privileges.”

“Your fragile male ego …”

“Wow!  You guys need to get a grip!”

Response: One who uses the Code Blue shaming tactic reveals a callous indifference to the humanity of men.  It may be constructive to confront such an accuser and ask if a certain problem men face needs to be addressed or not (“yes” or “no”), however small it may be seem to be.  If the accuser answers in the negative, it may constructive to ask why any man should care about the accuser’s welfare since the favor will obviously not be returned.  If the accuser claims to be unable to do anything about the said problem, one can ask the accuser why an attack is necessary against those who are doing something about it.

Like the response says you’re not likely going to get a positive answer from someone this indifferent or uncaring about men. Attempting to pin such a person down by asking them specific questions has been used by me a couple of times. The answer back has always been negative so far. It’s also a form of deflection on the part of the person you’re engaging. The author of the article suggests a counter question my personal preference at this point is to show this person the same lack of respect they’ve shown me. Or better yet by having some facts ready to throw back them. One I have encountered a few times is that every space is a safe space for men. This flies in the face of known crime statistics and is easily beatable. In my opinion though blue code types are not usually worthy of much respect

Charge of Puerility (Code Green) – The Peter Pan Charge

Discussion: The target is accused of being immature and/or irresponsible in some manner that reflects badly on his status as an adult male.  Examples:

“Grow up!”

“You are so immature!”

“Do you live with your mother?”

“I’m not interested in boys.  I’m interested in real men.”

“Men are shirking their God-given responsibility to marry and bear children.”

Response: It should be remembered that one’s sexual history, marital status, parental status, etc. are not reliable indicators of maturity and accountability.  If they were, then we would not hear of white collar crime, divorce, teen sex, unplanned pregnancies, extramarital affairs, etc.

This particular code gets leveled at MGTOW a lot! The ironic thing is that White Knights and Manginas are just as likely to be living with their parents and given what I’ve seen by the Gamerghazi crowd immaturity by this group is rampant. Especially in the case of many of them only having the female experience of rescuing the princess. You do need to be OK with your choice to be MGTOW to deal with a code green. Oddly enough, I’ve encountered many feminists even some fervently misandric feminists that will use the excuse that they have a boyfriend or husband in an attempt to dismiss the accusation that they hate men. It’s fair game also to point out to them that their relationship status also doesn’t mean that they’re not man haters. After all there are more than a few men that have very little self-respect. If you don’t believe me have a look at this facebook page and note the male comments there.

Charge of Endangerment (Code Orange) – The Elevated Threat Charge

Discussion: The target is accused of being a menace in some undefined manner.  This charge may be coupled with some attempt to censor the target.  Examples:

“You guys are scary.”

“You make me feel afraid.”

Response: It may be constructive to point out that only bigots and tyrants are afraid of having the truth expressed to them.  One may also ask why some women think they can handle leadership roles if they are so threatened by a man’s legitimate freedom of expression.

What I’ve seen lately, especially after Gregory Alan Elliot arrest, was an increase in this particular code. Women will especially attempt to use this code the moment they get a hard question, or when their narrative gets challenged in any way that they cannot counter. What I did see once word of what was happening to Gregory Alan Elliot is an upstaging of the threat to go to the police, if you persisted. While it’s a good idea to use the response above employing measures like I stated in this blog

If the verdict for Gregory Alan Elliot comes back as guilty in any way, you’ll start seeing a major upswing in this particular code. You’re going to see an upswing in this code anyway. It’s now becoming clear even to some mainstream feminists, that their movement is headed for trouble.

Charge of Rationalization (Code Purple) – The Sour Grapes Charge

Discussion: The target is accused of explaining away his own failures and/or dissatisfaction by blaming women for his problems.  Example:

“You are just bitter because you can’t get laid.”

Response: In this case, it must be asked if it really matters how one arrives at the truth.  In other words, one may submit to the accuser, “What if the grapes really are sour?”  At any rate, the Code Purple shaming tactic is an example of what is called “circumstantial ad hominem.”

Yes, it is indeed circumstantial ad hominem. A person’s sexual history has what relevance to the topic being discussed again? This is a code that you’ll run into A LOT! The reason being for this is twofold in my opinion. One, the people you’re going to be dealing with are not all that smart, and this is their fallback. Two they assume that men are driven by their genitals and not much else. Anyone who has gone down to this level can usually be disregarded.

Charge of Fanaticism (Code Brown) – The Brown Shirts Charge

Discussion: The target is accused of subscribing to an intolerant, extremist ideology or of being devoted to an ignorant viewpoint.  Examples:

“You’re one of those right-wing wackos.”

“You’re an extremist”

“You sound like the KKK.”

“… more anti-feminist zaniness”

Response: One should remember that the truth is not decided by the number of people subscribing to it.  Whether or not certain ideas are “out of the mainstream” is beside the point.  A correct conclusion is also not necessarily reached by embracing some middle ground between two opposing viewpoints (i.e., the logical fallacy of “False Compromise”).

Well now! Facts don’t back that up. Yes, there is a conservative base inside both the MRM and MGTOW. That does not all by itself make it a right wing circle jerk. In fact in the past couple of years thanks in large part to Atheism+ and Gamergate political leanings of the group are no longer as far to the right as they were in the past. These two pics kind of make the point though7e1 ideology

And of course, there’s also this from AVfM as well

Well, damn that fact checking all to hell huh? You also need to keep in mind that with a lot of these people they’re so far to the left that even a guy like me who’s center left would be considered a screaming right winger. And if that’s not enough, the Facebook groups routinely have members who are Asian, Indian and Black posting up on a regular basis.

This one’s getting long so I’ll pick it up in Part 8.
